Waxahachie, where I once had to drive a "smash cake" for a one year-old's birthday party while my girlfriend was in South America, is roughly 32 minutes no traffic from American Airlines Center. It's about 46 minutes to downtown Fort Worth. So while it's not quite as central as Grapevine to the two anchor DFW cities, it has a good school system overall -- general "accountability" rating of B and some 7-9 scores on GreatSchools -- and has a six-mile long hike and bike trail along the creek, along with other outdoor spots. A quick home search on our site reveals 144 houses for sale of 3/2 or greater between $200,000 and $800,000. If you drop the high-end to $400,000, making the range $200K-$400K, you still have 113 homes for sale to check out, and 76 of those homes are between 2,000 and 3,000 square feet. There's some value out there, for sure.
