This is a day that concerns many -- and well, 50% of people will probably be disappointed with how it eventually comes down. The economy is doing better, and in DFW it's doing pretty good all things considered, but it's not "robust" except in terms of home sales and a few tech stocks, some e-commerce, etc. People are struggling and evictions do loom. We'd be unwise to claim everything is golden.

You can always check out "Start Here" on our site for a concise explanation, and we blogged once about how to tell a complex that you worked with us. Let's recap some of that in a second. But, the basics are: you don't pay us. If you work with us and we place you, the complex pays us, and we pay you as a result of that. So on your end, it's essentially a free service!
There are a couple of different words that might be associated with the "locator" space, including:
- Real Estate Agent
- Locator Agency
- Locator Service
It's usually self-explanatory, but in many cases on complex cards, it's not. Plus, you might be doing this on a Saturday late morning with 45 other things running through your mind. Life's not always easy, especially on weekend mornings.
The best practice if it's not self-explanatory
Text your contact with Whiterock and see what they recommend. Screenshot the card you've been provided and your contact will tell you where to indicate that you're working with Whiterock. When in doubt, or if for some reason you cannot reach your Whiterock contact immediately, look for the "Other" field on the guest card and write in "Whiterock Locators."
Why do complexes have these cards, anyway?
Because we live in the era of data now, and they need data on where people are coming from -- be it Google, drive-by, walk-in, Facebook/Instagram ads, locator services, etc. They want to know how best to maximize their marketing budgets and time spent. No one wants to waste their time on a channel that isn't drawing any human beings into the place to look at the units.
Another major consideration
In addition to your guest card, you almost always need to fill out the full application (gradually these are moving online, although sometimes you need to do a paper version in the leasing office).
You need to say the same thing -- i.e. in this case "Whiterock Locators" -- on both the application and the touring guest card. If they don't match, there is a chance that the apartment complex will not pay the locator (us!), and then we can't provide a rebate.
