Dating isn’t as simple as it used to be. Dinner and a movie, although fun for a first date, gets old pretty quickly and, to be honest, can get pricey pretty quickly. Unless you have an unlimited budget and all of the time in the world, chances are you’re hoping to take your significant other out on a memorable date in DFW that won’t break the bank

Luckily, the Dallas Fort Worth area has more than enough to offer any budget conscious couple hoping to have a little bit of fun without spending a full paycheck. Sure, these ideas aren’t revolutionary, but they’re a great addition to your date idea bucket list. Don’t worry, we won’t tell her you didn’t come up with it on your own.

1. Travel Back In Time At The Coyote Drive-In

We said dinner and a movie was cliche, but dinner and a drive-in? It’s perfect. Coyote Drive-In in Fort Worth brings your movie outside. Better yet- for just $8 you can watch two full movies spend your extra cash on dinner at the Coyote Canteen.

2. Half-Priced Movies AND Wine at LOOK Cinemas

Every Wednesday night the upscale cinema tones it down a notch or two offering half-priced movies and half off bottles of wine.

3. Picnic at White Rock Lake

Save cash by packing your own romantic dinner (with a few beers or a bottle of wine, of course) and head town to scenic White Rock Lake just northeast of Downtown Dallas.

4. Brunch at The Standard Pour

The Thrillist noted that this mainstay brunch spot in Dallas actually can be quite the bargain if you time it right. The Standard Pour offers $1 mimosas on Saturday and Sunday, alongside affordable brunch menu options.

5. Free Beer?! Say No More

If you prefer beer to wine or mimosas, never fear. Eater Dallas has a somewhat overwhelming list of brewerys in the DFW area that offer free tours with dirt cheap samples or a $10 fee and an all-you-can-drink situation (well, almost).

6. Go On An “Art Walk” Downtown

Dallas prides itself on their public art and the downtown area is the perfect place to see an abundance of beautiful artwork. Take your date on a downtown “Art Walk” and instantly impress them.

7. Take The Trolley Uptown

The McKinney Ave trolley offers free transportation throughout town, hitting some of the major attractions of the city along the way. It’s a scenic (and free) way to get from point A to point B.

8. Jam at Sundown at Granada

Every night, the Granada theater offers a free (yes, free) show - you just have to be a night owl to hit it.

9. Visit Half Price Books to See Who Can Find The Best Read

Visit one of Dallas’ two Half Price Books locations to buy some cheap reading material and impress your date with your literary knowledge. Not the reading type? Go anyway- it will definitely impress your date.
